Local Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) organizations will be on hand to help citizens complete and file their taxes\, as well as to identify if they qualify for the EIC or CTC. Consumer Credit Counseling Service will be presenting “So It’s Tax Time” at 2\:30 pm\, offering tips on managing your refund.
“We want to make sure our community is aware of the credits for which they could be eligible\,” says Macon Mayor Robert Reichert. “Additionally\, we want them to know of the free tax preparation services in our community that are staffed with people trained and certified by the IRS.”
