Mayor’s Night In Goes Virtual

Starting Monday March 8th, the City of Macon will launch a new effort to connect with the residents of the city. Mayor Reichert will hold Mayor’s Night In via two new formats, Channel 14 and the City of Macon’s website. “Mayor’s Virtual Night In” will start at 5:30 and citizens can come to City Hall to participate in person or tune to Channel 14 or participate in the Cover It Live blog on the City of Macon’s website (www.cityofmacon.net).

“With the demands on each of our times, I wanted to make it easier for people to reach out and to interact with the Mayor’s Office, thus was born Mayor’s Virtual Night In,” said Mayor Reichert. “It allows the City to use its existing resources to connect with people on their on schedule from the comfort of their own home. I look forward to growing this effort and allowing technology to create a more dynamic way to communicate with the people of Macon.”

Mayor’s Night In is an opportunity for residents to ask Mayor Reichert questions or discuss problems in the Macon community. People wishing to speak with the Mayor individually in person will still be able to do so after the “Mayor’s Virtual Night In” ends at 6 pm as has been traditionally done with past Mayor’s Night In.

Both the virtual and traditional versions of Mayor’s Night In will be held on the second Monday of each month, with the virtual portion starting at 5:30 pm and the traditional in office portion at 6:00 pm. All people for both portions of Mayor’s Night In will be handled on a first come first serve basis.
